This is one of the first actual photographic prints to be placed into a publication volume from an excavation. This large section of a polygonal wall, ‘side view from outside,’ was published as Plate 5 in Archäologische Untersuchungen auf Samothrake (Conze, Hauser, and Niemann 1875).
