An abandoned SPLA camp in the Ethiopian borderland.
These are the ruins of a hospital for wounded SPLA fighters. The civil war in Southern Sudan (1983-2005) was one of the cruelest of the last century. Around two million people died, mostly civilians and hundreds of thousands took refuge in neighboring countries: many of them in a UN -sponsored refugee camp located only 15 km to the north of this military base.
